Cast-On Strap (CoS) Battery Flux
Superior Flux manufactures a variety of CoS fluxes for automated battery fabrication. Our battery fluxes leave no post-solder residue and yield a high first-pass rate with excellent base coverage. All fluxes are formulated to contain no chlorides, heavy metals or organic acids and are available in water-based and alcohol-based formulations.

Superior No. 155 solvent-based battery flux was specially formulated for high-volume CoS manufacturing operations where rapid evaporation of solvent is necessary. Whether operating at low temperatures to prevent straps cracking or high temperatures to accommodate the large mass plates, No. 155 remains consistently active to produce strong burn-in cast bonds.
Superior No. 552 Battery Flux is specially formulated to be used as supplied as a water-based replacement for alcohol-based CoS fluxes. This flux’s formulation provides stability in the preheat step of the CoS process and prevents spattering using a strong, clean activator. The flux exhibits very low fuming and/or smoke during the burn-in manufacturing process.
Superior No. 555C Battery Flux is specially formulated as a low-VOC, non-flammable product for the CoS manufacturing process in high concentrate formulation (dilutable up to 20:1). This flux exhibits very low fuming and/or smoke during the burn-in manufacturing process.
