Alcohol-Based, No-Clean Wave Soldering Flux
Superior Flux offers a full range of alcohol-based, no-clean wave soldering fluxes for PCB Assembly operations. Solvent-based, otherwise known as alcohol-based, fluxes offer the advantages of rapid solvent evaporation and thus reduced flux spattering during soldering. Alcohol-based fluxes are classified as Dangerous Goods for shipping and storage. The ones listed on this page are halide-free and therefore, in most cases, flux residues are safe to leave on post-solder.
Superior Flux also offers a full lineup of VOC-free No-Clean and Water-Soluble Wave-Soldering Fluxes. See also our range of fluxes for Selective Soldering.

Superior Nos. 312, 315, 315LF, and 325 ship as “dangerous goods (flammable)”, are halide-free, and RoHS 3 compliant.
Superior No. 312
Superior No. 312 is a low-solids, solvent-based, no-clean flux formulated for spray and foam applications in PCB assembly wave soldering. No. 312 is relatively active for a low-solids no-clean flux and may be effective in some lead-free applications. No. 312 contains no rosin or resin and is halide-free. It is idea for soldering high quality PCBs in thru-hole or mixed technology assemblies (thru-hole & surface mount). PCBs soldered with No. 312 have been successfully cleaned after soldering using aqueous- or solvent-based cleaners; pre-trials would be necessary to confirm post solder washing will work within your application. No. 312 is compatible with many commonly used conformal coatings.
No. 312 is available in cases of 4 x 1-gallon bottles, 5- gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums. This flux is also available for purchase in individual 1-gallon bottles, quarts, pints, and 4-oz bottles per special request. Superior No. 312 is designed as a type ORL0 per J-STD-004.
Superior No. 315
Superior No. 315 is a no-clean, alcohol-based flux formulation with a low solids content. No. 315 has a slightly higher solids content than Superior No. 312 and uses a modified activation system. It can be used in both spray and foam wave solder applications. Superior No. 315 is free of any halides or halogens, rosin or resins. PCBs soldered with No. 315 can often be cleaned post-solder using water or solvent-based cleaners. Residues from No. 315 are typically compatible with popularly used conformal coatings. No. 315 is classified as an ORL0 type flux per J-STD-004.
This flux is available for purchase in cases of 4 x 1-gallon bottles, 5-gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums. Per special request, it is also available in individual gallon bottles, quarts, pints, and 4-oz bottles.
Superior No. 315LF
Superior No. 315LF is a high-solids, no-clean flux designed for wave solder applications. The flux is applied to the PCB via spray or foam delivery. The No. 315LF uses an ethanol-based solvent system. (The version of No. 315LF that uses isopropanol as a base is Superior No. 315PLF.) The high solids level of No. 315LF makes the flux ideal when using lead-free solder alloys. This solvent-based wave soldering flux is free of any halides or halogens, resins or rosins, and is ideal for soldering high quality PCBs in thru-hole and mix technology assemblies. No. 315LF is classified as a type ORL0 flux per J-STD-004.
This flux is available in cases of 4 x 1-gallon bottles, 5-gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums. No. 315LF can also be purchased via special request as individual gallon bottles, quarts, pints, and 4-oz bottles.
Superior No. 325
Superior No. 325 is a medium-solids, no-clean flux formulated for spray and foam applications in wave soldering. It is a solvent-based flux. The unique activator system in No. 325 promotes excellent wetting of the solder on the surfaces of both PCB and component leads. No. 325 is considered an active no-clean flux that successfully solders lead-free solder alloys. No. 325 is classified as a type ORL0 flux per J-STD-004.
This flux is available in cases of 4 x 1-gallon bottles, 5-gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums. No. 325 can also be purchased via special request in individual gallon bottles, quarts, pints, and 4-oz bottles.
