Superior No. 30 soldering flux is a water-based, organic acid (OA) flux with fully water-soluble post-solder residues. The OA Amino Acid/Halide activator begins oxide removal at room temperature making it an excellent choice for Lead-Free, Tin/Lead, and Fusible alloys. All post-solder residues are water-soluble and should be cleaned off in 60°/140°F water to avoid cleanliness failures.

No. 30 is most commonly used in the soldering of electrical components, because the flux’s residues are mild and can be easily washed off with water.  However, this flux can be used for any soldering application that involves soldering Copper and working with a soldering iron.  If you are soldering with a torch, then No. 30 is generally not the right flux, as the torch will burn out the flux before it can be of any use.  If you’re using a torch, choose one of our Zinc Chloride based fluxes or one of our plumbing fluxes.
